Illustration Process

Process

After you've had a chance to look at some of our extensive online Illustration design portfolio and decide that you like what ' Azzmax Design ' delivers, all you need to do order the package along with your contact information and make your 50% payment upfront.

We'll then contact you and discussing your needs via email, phone or instant message which includes a brief set of standard questions so I can get a better idea of what you need to have me create.

At this stage, the more you can send me the better. Links of work I have created to give me an idea of the style or look you want, or links to other artwork that might be close to what you are looking for. Of course I won't copy another artist's work, but sometimes a reference can help give me an idea of a look, style or attitude you are trying to achieve with your character.

Design start

So now after we got all the information we need we draw up some initial sketches for the cartoon art and send them off via email within 48 -72 wk/hrs. We'll go back and forth via email discussing tweaking and revising the sketches until you are 100% happy with the look of the art.

During the sketch stage I will be sending sketches and in-progress work to you via e-mail. Timely replies and feedback helps to keep the creative process moving along quickly.

At the end of this stage, the sketch will look pretty close to what it will look like as the final line art (black and white art) and I will use this as a template to hand-create the vector art in the "digital inking" stage.

Any and all edits, tweaks, revisions or changes must be made during this process. Any edits made after the final sketch has been approved may incur additional fees.

Next I go into the "digital inking" stage, where the approved line art sketch (and color if applicable) is hand-created as vector art in Adobe Illustrator. Color is usually added and refined during the vector art stage.

We then do another round of back and forth — repeating as necessary — to get the final color art to your complete satisfaction.

Revisions at this stage will consist primarily of color tweaks, shading/highlights and minor line - art detail work. You will receive watermarked preview images via e-mail for your feedback and final approval.
